Traffic was stopped on the M5 in Gloucestershire after a collision left an overturned car and a trailer on the motorway
The accident happened on the southbound motorway at junction 13 for Stroud and the A419.
Emergency services are at the scene dealing with the collision, which happened at around 12.38pm.
A police spokesman said: "We were called shortly before 12.25 after a car ended up on its roof on the motorway near Junction 13 southbound.
"No one else was injured."
All lanes have since reopened although delays remained.
There are also delays northbound after a two-car collision in Worcestershire between junction 7 for Evesham and junction six for Worcester.
There were two ambulances at the scene for this collision.
While there has also been a multi-vehicle collision on the M4 near Bristol.
Two lanes had been closed and there were long delays.

One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M4 Eastbound from J20 (Almondsbury Interchange) to J19 M32 (Bristol). Congestion to J21 (M48 interchange), M5 J18 (M49 interchange). Travel time is 30 minutes.
Lane one (of four) is closed. The car is now on the back of a recovery truck. Lane two reopened around 14:25. Traffic on the opposite carriageway is slowing all the way back to J18 (Bath/Tomarton) to look at the accident.

A417 - BENTHAM - EASTBOUND - GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Queueing traffic due to earlier broken down vehicle on A417 Eastbound from A46 Shurdington Road (Bentham) to A436 (Air Balloon Roundabout, Ullenwood). All lanes have been re-opened.
The carriageway was previously partially blocked.
