A major Gloucestershire cinema multiplex was evacuated tonight.

Nobody has been hurt after the fire alarm was set off at Cineworld in Gloucester Quays by a 'disgruntled customer', according to security staff.

A fire drill was put in place and people were told to leave the cinema.

Customers ringing up The Quays worried about social media reports of a fire were told that everybody is okay.

One person said on a private Facebook group in Gloucester: "I was down The Quays and saw everyone evacuated, but I saw no flames."

Afterwards one person described the evacuation as "a shambles" and another person took to social media to ask how they could get their money back because the were told to leave before the film started.

Tonight management cinema said it had no comment to make about the evacuation.
