A man was attacked while in his own car on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
The victim of the serious assault was attacked in his own vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Corsa.
The attackers are believe to have fled the scene and driven off in a brown or bronze coloured Mitsubishi 4x4 SUV.
The attack happened on Tuffley Lane at around 5.15pm on Sunday, March 3.
Gloucestershire Constabulary are appealing for witnesses and police are keen to hear from people who were in the area at the time.
They are particularly interested in anyone who was driving and may have dash cam footage.
Two men, one from Gloucester and one from Tewkesbury, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
They have been bailed to return to the police station on April 8 and 9.
A third man from Gloucester was also arrested and released under investigation.
