There has been one new death linked to coronavirus recorded in Gloucestershire in the last 24 hours, according to figures released by the NHS today (May 25).

Across the UK, there are now 269,184 lab-confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 36,914 people have passed away after testing positive.

This represents a rise of 1,625 and 121 over a 24-hour period.

In Gloucestershire, there are now 1,365 cases of coronavirus - up two since yesterday - with the majority - 399 - in Gloucester.

There are 319 in Cheltenham and another 181 in Tewkesbury.

The death toll is now up to 221 following one newly-reported death overnight.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust has now reported 34 deaths and Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust has 187 deaths recorded.

A full breakdown of cases according to Public Health England data is as follows:

  • Gloucester - 399
  • Cheltenham - 319
  • Stroud - 197
  • Tewkesbury - 181
  • Cotswolds - 154
  • Forest of Dean - 114

Across the border in Worcestershire there have been 1,374 cases, in Wiltshire 522, Warwickshire 1,432 and Herefordshire 436 cases.

There have been 399 cases recorded in South Gloucestershire.
