Police have put a three month closure order on a house at the centre of a drugs warrant yesterday.

The order has been made on an address on Jersey Road after reports of drug dealing and anti-social behaviour and a four hour long investigation at the property. It forbids anyone other than the owner, contractors or emergency services from remaining there.

The warrant for the property was carried out by officers from Force Crime Operations, Solace and the Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team at around 7.30am on August 1.

Since the investigation a 42 -year-old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of the manufacture and or production of class B drugs and now released under investigation.

The closure was applied for by the Solace team who tackle anti-social behaviour.  It was granted by Cheltenham Magistrates' Court.

This order prevents anyone from remaining on or in the property except the owner, any agent or maintenance service person acting on instruction of owners of the property or the emergency services.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Rich Smith said: "We hope that the execution of the warrant and closure order sends a strong message that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities.

"I would like to thank the local community for their patience and co-operation during this time and my officers will now be conducting reassurance patrols in the area over the next few days.

"I ask anyone who has concerns about drug dealing or ASB in Barton to please inform a member of my team."

The order is in place until Friday November 1.
