Police are asking for members of the public to jog their memories to see if they remember witnessing an incident over the weekend.
Gloucestershire Constabulary report that an assault took place near a takeaway in Matson on Saturday evening.
They say the victim was outside the Chinese takeaway on Matson Avenue when the attack took place.
The scene of the alleged crime was by the Jade Garden and the local shops.
No details have been released about whether the victim was left with any injuries.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or witnessed anything suspicious is asked to call 101 quoting incident 443 of November 10.
