A teenager has been stabbed in an incident which happened in broad daylight.

Police were called to a street in the Tredworth area of Gloucester on Monday afternoon.

At the scene on Melbourne Street East they found an 18-year-old had been wounded.

He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital following the incident at around 1.30pm, where medics treated him for an arm injury.

No-one has been arrested and police officers are making enquiries.

"We were called to Melbourne Street East at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon following reports of a stabbing," said a spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Constabulary.

"It’s believed that an 18-year-old man suffered a wound to his arm.

"He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment and was released shortly after."

It has not been confirmed yet what type of implement may have been used and the investigation is ongoing.
