The crowds at the Cheltenham Races managed to survive the windy weather this week, even as Storm Gareth threatened to blow off many a fedora from heads at the horse racing festival.

But Gloucestershire will continue to weather strong winds coming in from the northwest today, remaining mostly dry with a few showers to be expected this evening.

Temperatures are due to hover between one and eight degrees, with the occasional chill in the air.

Sunday might not be the best day for a weekend walk, as sunny spells will give way to blustery showers, so a decent coat might be needed to brave the day.

Rain is due for later on Sunday evening with temperatures dropping to 5°C.

The Met Office has also warned that parts of the UK will be seeing hail and snow in the coming days, which might put a brisker temperature in the air.

Areas of the UK have been slapped with a flood warning - which includes the River Wye on the edge of Gloucestershire.

That cold chill will be obvious on Monday morning, but thankfully the rain will ease up as a drier week is on the cards for the county, with some drizzle on Tuesday and a brighter, warmer Wednesday.
