Former Cardiff City, Leicester City and Yeovil Town midfielder joins Cheltenham Town Ladies

Cheltenham Town Ladies included latest signing Paige Stewart in their 2-0 opening day win over Poole Town Ladies on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, a debut strike from defender Mai Butler put the Robins in front six minutes into the second period.

Attacking midfielder or forward Stewart, who has previously been with Bristol Academy, Cardiff City, Yeovil Town and Leicester City during an impressive career, then set up Abby Bevan for the second in the 65th minute.

It was a dominant performance and only some fine goalkeeping and the woodwork prevented them winning by a greater margin in front of 92 fans at the DN Fire Stadium.

The Robins visit Billericay Town in the FA Women's National League Cup next Sunday (2pm).
