Gloucester’s West Country derby against Bath will be televised live on Channel 5.

The game in round 20 of the Premiership takes place on Saturday, April 13 at Kingsholm and it will be the second year in a row the fixture at Kingsholm has been shown on free-to-air TV.

The previous meeting betweeen the sides at The Rec in September saw an exhilarating ending to the game after longer serving Bath back Matt Banahan went over the try line against his old club on 77 minutes to help clinch a 31-31 draw.

It is one of two games selected by Channel 5 with Saracens to face off against their London rivals Harlequins at the London Stadium on March 23 as they look to repeat their earlier competition performance that saw them clinch victory by five points.

Coverage will be fronted by Mark Durden-Smith and former England prop David Flatman, with ‘Flats’ also supporting broadcaster Connor McNamara on commentary duties.

Olympic Gold Medallist and presenter Sam Quek and former Northampton and England International Paul Grayson complete the team.

These two games build on Channel 5’s coverage of Premiership Rugby, which has so far seen them air three games in the 2018/19 season as part of a landmark four-year deal that began in 2017, to show fixtures live on terrestrial TV for the first time in the competition’s history.

This also includes a highlights show with all of the best action from the weekend every Monday at 7pm, presented by Durden-Smith and Flatman.

Channel 5’s coverage will be produced by Sunset + Vine, with footage from the game being simulcast with BT Sport.
