Everyone knows men’s pub toilets can be pretty bad – but this really takes the biscuit.

The images below show how appalling they got in one of Gloucester's Wetherspoon pubs on a Saturday night.

They were posted onto Facebook page Spotted Gloucester and surrounding areas this week, and be warned before you continue scrolling down because they are really are genuinely disgusting.

Adam King took the photos after he had travelled across South East Asia.

He said that the "holes in the ground" in countries like Cambodia and Laos were cleaner than the ones in the city centre pub.

He added: "They've got nothing. What would they say if they saw these toilets?

"There was water, sewage, flooded over the brim of the toilet and on the floor.

"It's the The Regal, it's the hub pub of Gloucester. What would people from those countries say if they saw these toilets?"

He said he had just bought a drink before going upstairs at about 10.30pm on the evening of Saturday March 9 to go to the toilet but found each of the cubicles in a condition where it couldn't be used.

He then left the pub without finishing his drink.

"It's disgusting," the 39-year-old said said. "There was sick and diarrhoea all over the floor. People were tip-toeing through it.

"This didn't happen in five minutes. Four people didn't go in to the toilets and vomit at the same time, this happened through the evening.

"Someone somewhere has to deal with it, or at least monitor the toilets more.

"There was no working toilet in the pub."

In his post the electrical contractor said: “Regal wetherspoons sat night every cubicle toilet disgusting and unusable. What a greeting to our city. So so sad.”

One person said underneath: “What’s that? Soup of the day lol.”

Another person said: “Not nice but surely its the person who vomited that is the problem and not the pub. Assuming you informed staff of the mess so someone could clean it up?”

It had only been a week since he'd come back from travelling and had been to another of the city's Wetherspoons pubs where he found the toilets were in good condition.

Wetherspoons spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “There is no disputing the fact that this is a disgusting photo.

“We provide first class toilets for our customers and it is shocking that someone would make this mess.

“Perhaps a thought could also be given to the Wetherspoon member of staff or cleaner who had to clear it up.

“Our pubs are checked regularly, but it is impossible to know how long the toilet was in this condition before it was cleaned.”
