AUGUSTA, Ga. — A tornado watch has been issued for Augusta, Ga., and the surrounding area until 7 p.m. ET tonight, the National Weather Service of Columbia, S.C., tweeted at 12:54 p.m. It could affect the end of the Masters.

The tornado watch encompasses the western part of South Carolina and northeastern Georgia. Based on the graphic the National Weather Service of Columbia tweeted, Augusta is close to the center of the watch area.

The final round of the Masters started at 7:30 a.m. ET on Sunday after tee times were moved up due to an ominous weather forecast for Sunday afternoon. Players went off split tees and in threesomes trying to beat the weather. The threat of thunderstorms also forced Augusta National to cancel tonight’s green jacket ceremony for the winner.
