West Texas all-star basketball games return to Angelo State

The 2019 West Texas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games are scheduled for Sunday, June 23, at Angelo State University's Junell Center.

The event begins with Game 1 on the boys' side between Team West (Blue) and Team Texas (Red) at 1 p.m.

The girls game between Team West (Blue) and Team Texas (Red) will follow at 2:30 p.m., followed by Game 2 on the boys' side between Team West (Blue) and Team Texas (Red) at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Passes will be honored from the Texas High School Coaches Association, Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and Texas Girls Coaches Association.

The boys roster for Team West in Game 1 includes Blaize Lopez, Cherokee; Isaiah Guerra, Wall; Baylor Halfmann, Wall; Zachary Duran, Stamford; Garrett Burns, Borden County; Noah Rosas, Menard; Christian Salazar, Menard; Dominic Herrera, Veribest; Sean Grimes, Texline; Adolfo Espino, Texline; and Cole Zentner, Ballinger. The coach is Kade Eckert of A&M Consolidated. 

The Team Texas boys roster for Game 1 includes Nathan Chacon, Irion County; Mo Morrow, Irion County; Jordan Rodriguez, Lenorah Grady; Kade Goble, Baird; Ethan Senne, Jim Ned; Karter Morris, Aspermont, Manny Gamboa, Robert Lee; Gage Clark, Coahoma; Joey Gullett, Whitesboro; and Kolbi Cox, Archer City. Jim Ned's Eric Phelps is the coach.

Scheduled to play for Team West on the girls' side are Parker Alsup, Del Rio; Natalya Manrique, Del Rio; Tyler Pyburn, Blooming Grove; Jordan Rogers, Fort Worth Brewer; Jadyn Gore, Ballinger, Addisyn Sackett, Slaton; Jordan Mathis, Rockwall; Marinela Ortiz, Crystal City; Cassie Furry, Blanket; Brianna Andrews, Blanket; Hallie Rose Edmondson, Roby; Kayce Jackson, Christoval; Addison Jenkins, Post; Morgan Wagner, Menard; and Cat Marshall, Menard. The coach is Del Rio's Chris Jost.

Wall's Haley Palmore is on the roster for the girls' all-star basketball game at Angelo State University on Sunday.

The girls' roster for Team Texas includes Alauna Moore, North Crowley; Na'Teiona Cole, North Crowley; Jackilyn Sykes, Sonora; Mary Kyle Johnson, Sonora; Missie Kilo, Keene; Haley Palmore, Wall; Laney Sandoval, Gorman; Briana Landa, Gorman; Ella Segura, Gorman; Shelby Pannell, Nueces Canyon; Reagan Nuncio, Lockney; Damara Thomas, Coleman; Angel Dearden, Springlake-Earth; and Mya Garcia, Sterling City. Sonora's Clayton Harris is the coach.

The Game 2 roster for Team West on the boys' side features Jakeevian Ford, Levelland; Reid O'Connor, Levelland; Ryan Harrell, Sheppard; Jareck Naylor, Liberty Hill; Zachary Dusek, Wall; Alonzo Wesley, Snyder; Qua Butler, Lubbock Monterey; and Trace Edwards, Stamford. The coach will be the same one for Game 1 -- Eckert of A&M Consolidated.

Team Texas players for Game 2 include Deveraux Minix, San Angelo Central; Mikal Banks, Big Spring; Anthony Hunter, Burleson Centennial; Porter Gotovac, Midland Christian; Damian Adams, Fort Bend Christian; Kobe Richardson, Forsan; Josh Mills, Denver City; and Nathaniel Cruz, Denver City. They will be coached by Forsan's Cory Richardson.

Top performers from Game 1 may be added to the rosters for Game 2.
