NEKOMA, N.D. -- Two people were injured Thursday morning after a minivan and North Dakota Transportation Department snowplow collided in Cavalier County.

The state-owned plow driven by 43-year-old Eric Simpson of Langdon, N.D., was westbound at 8:20 a.m. Thursday on North Dakota Highway 66 when it collided with a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country that was southbound on state Highway 1, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The roads at the intersection where the crash happened about 4 miles north of Nekoma were icy, state troopers said in a news release.

Simpson wasn't injured, but the driver of the minivan, 76-year-old Robert Iverson of Langdon, and his passenger, 44-year-old John Iverson of Edinburg, N.D., were taken to a Langdon hospital by ambulance for injuries that weren’t life-threatening, the Highway Patrol said. Everyone was wearing their seat belts, according to the release.

No charges had been filed in the case as of Thursday evening. The crash remains under investigation.
