PIERRE, S.D. — South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem sent out a tweet on Wednesday, Dec. 11, keeping her promise to wear North Dakota State University Bison gear after they beat South Dakota State University in the battle for the Dakota Marker earlier this fall.
Noem had a wager with North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum on the game, which NDSU won by a 23-16 score in Brookings on a day when ESPN's popular Game Day college football show set up shop for the first time in South Dakota.
I keep my promises....but I’m not happy about it @DougBurgum and I had a little wager on the Dakota Marker game and @NDSUfootball came out on top....but boy did @SDSUFootball gave them a fight. Thanks for the gear Governor....I Hope next year we see you in a @GoJacksSDSU jersey pic.twitter.com/OachjOXGeV

The state's first-term and first female governor, who previously served as the state's lone representative in Congress for eight years, sent out photos with a jersey with the No. 19 on it and also another with her wearing a Bison hat.
The only problem with the tweet was that she used a hashtag for San Diego State University instead of her former alma mater, where she earned a degree in political science in 2012. In Twitter responses, she also got attacked for "not" keeping her promises, especially to the state's teachers.
