1 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash in Montana

MISSOULA — A man killed when the car he was driving on the wrong side of the highway collided head-on with a semitrailer truck has been identified as 62-year-old Martin J. Elison, of Missoula.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the accident occurred about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 at Missoula, closing all lanes of the highway for hours.

The truck driver, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital. There were no immediate reports on a condition.

The truck was hauling wood chips, which caught fire after the collision.
