A WINCHESTER man who made a woman fear violence by sending abusive emails and calling her more than 100 times within 24 hours, has avoided prison.
Steven Berryman admitted putting someone in fear of violence when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court.
The 24-year-old, of Silchester Place, Hyde, committed the offence between April 10 and May 15.
Magistrates sentenced Berryman to four months imprisonment, suspended for two years, as well as 100 hours of unpaid work, and a restraining order.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
