LOWELL, Mass. – Hartford softball travel to UMass Lowell for its penultimate regular-season America East matchup, with a single game against the River Hawks on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. 
 
FIRST PITCH
  • The Hawks enters the midweek clash coming of a vital series win over Binghamton, taking two of three.  
  • Sophomore Nicolette Barranger hit her seventh triple last week to break the program's single season record
  • Barranger leads the America East in the category and is tied for third in Division I
  • Sophomore Danielle Rocheleau leads Hartford's offense, batting .437 with five home runs and 33 RBI
  • Rocheleau is second in the conference in batting average and is tied for 12th in Division I (as of April 18)
  • This past weekend Rocheleau broke the program's record for hits in a single season with 59 and counting
  • Rocheleau is two hits away from 100 for her career and one RBI away from tying the single season program record of 34 
  • Hartford continues to be one of the top defensive teams in the conference this season, registering a .964 fielding percentage, which ranks second in the America East
  • The Hawks have compiled the most wins (18) since the 2013 season in which Hartford won 21 games.   
UMASS LOWELL SCOUT
  • The River Hawks enter the midweek meeting with an undefeated America East record, most recently sweeping UMBC in a three-game series. 
  • Junior infielder Courtney Cashman has dominated at the plate, leading Division I with a .539 batting average while tacking on 29 RBI and nine home runs
  • Sophomore Lovina Capria leads UMass Lowell in the circle with a 14-6 record and a 2.12 ERA, which ranks her third in the America East 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Wednesday's clash will be the 17th meeting between the Hawks and River Hawks, with UMass Lowell holding a 14-2 advantage.  
  • In their last meeting earlier this month, the Hawks fell to UMass Lowell, 6-5
