To our Hartford Hawks Family:
The social climate in our country is
UNACCEPTABLE. We are frustrated, angered and saddened that members of our Hartford Hawks family are hurting.
We want you to feel safe. We want you to feel welcomed. We want you to feel heard. We want you to know that you are all
VALUED and
LOVED, and that we are with you.
Racism does not have a place in society. It does NOT have a home at the University of Hartford.
As head coaches, we pledge to continue to listen, engage in dialogue and work to eliminate injustice and inequalities on our campus, and in our community.
We have the responsibility to be thoughtful with our words and our actions, which goes beyond a video, a tweet or a share. We all must put this into practice every day.
We all come from different backgrounds that span the globe, but collectively, we are
HAWKS UNITED AS ONE. Individually, we can all be better.
TOGETHER, we can help
CHANGE the world for the better.Â
Respectfully,Â
