HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Authorities in Connecticut have identified recently found human remains as those of a missing woman who recently moved from Hawaii to Connecticut.

Meriden police made the announcement in a press conference on Friday.

Local media reported her remains were found on Wednesday night, and authorities initially thought the identification process could take weeks. But they were able to identify the remains sooner.

Police say 31-year-old Perrie Mason vanished suddenly on Friday.

Her fiance, 38-year-old Jason Watson, has been arrested in connection with a separate domestic violence case that happened last week, local media reports.

But police have named him as the primary suspect in the case.

The mother of two moved to the East Coast one year ago. She’s a former district court clerk on Oahu.

Mason’s sister, Vao Horlback, said the family is trying to stay strong.

“If I fall apart it will be too hard for me to try to continue so I’m trying to keep everything together in support of my sister, in support of the search in finding her," she said.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support Mason’s two children.
