Since Providence Regional Medical Center management has stated they aren’t trying to make money on parking, why not institute a parking validation program for patients, their families, visitors and employees?
Thirty minutes is barely enough time to get to a department in the hospital and back, so allowing that as a free window is pretty meaningless.
This would allow valid parking users continued free access while ensuring that others pay their way. It could potentially also identify frequent users who should not be using the hospital’s limited parking facilities.
