A BOOK celebrating the life and history on the River Wye has been released.
The latest book from Herefordshire Lore features the stories of those who have lived, worked and played on and beside the River Wye as it meanders through Herefordshire.
Interviews from poachers, river bailiffs, ferrymen, swimmers and rowers have contributed to the collection which features first-hand accounts and photographs.
Author Marsha O’Mahony said: “One of our interviewees passed away last year and there is an urgency to ensure the voices of ordinary people on the River Wye have their rightful place in history. We thank them enormously.”
River Voices: Extraordinary Stories from the Wye is priced at £10 (plus £2.50 postage) and is available from local bookshops and Herefordshire Lore. For more information contact info@herefordshireloe.org.uk or 07989733870.
