FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle an out-of-control garden fire in north Herefordshire yesterday.
A crew from Kingsland Fire Station were sent to Millbrook Close in Orleton after receiving reports of a compost heap and fencing on fire at 11.27am on May 19.
It was well alight on arrival and firefighters tackled the blaze using a hose reel jet, small tools and a thermal imaging camera.
Crews across the county have been called to a number of garden fires in recent weeks, and with the UK expecting the hottest day of the year so far today, firefighters are asking people to be careful.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have previously appealed for people to avoid having bonfires during the coronavirus lockdown, after attending more incidents in the open than would normally be expected.
