Official figures show that three more cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Herefordshire.

Public Health England figures show that 430 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am Thursday morning (May 21) in Herefordshire, up from 427 the same time on Wednesday. A week before, there were 413 cases.

It means cases have increased by 1% over the last 24 hours, on a par with the rate of increase across the UK of 1%.

They were among the 24,827 cases recorded across the midlands, a figure which rose by 190 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Across the UK, 250,908 people had tested positive for coronavirus as of 9am on Thursday, up from 248,818 at the same point on Wednesday, Department of Health and Social Care figures show.

In total, 2,064,329 people had been tested, and, as of 5pm on Wednesday, 36,042 had died.
