Leeds fans respond to Thomas Christiansen tweet

Thomas Christiansen remains popular among Leeds United fans.

He might’ve only been Leeds United boss for some eight months prior to his sacking in February, but Thomas Christiansen remains a popular figure with fans of the Elland Road side nonetheless.

Leeds parted company with the 45-year-old earlier this year following a seven-match winless run, leaving the Whites 10th in the Championship.

That outcome was unthinkable a little earlier in the season, when United were spearheading the Championship table and looking like very decent promotion candidates.

But a disastrous start to the calendar year put paid to their hopes of reaching the Premier League, and Leeds wound up finishing 13th after Paul Heckingbottom took over.

Christiansen, who was the club’s eighth manager since 2014, united the fanbase like few had done in the years before him and got them believing once again.

And some Leeds supporters have responded to his latest tweet to let him know that he remains in their thoughts.

It’s a nice and classy gesture by those supporters and many, many more will feel the very same about the former APOEL boss, even though he couldn’t lead the club back to the top flight.
