The left-back ended last season as a regular under Heckingbottom at Leeds United.
Leeds United’s Tom Pearce is among those who have ‘liked’ a tweet from Paul Heckingbottom, following the former Whites’ manager’s appointment by Hibernian.
Heckingbottom only spent four months in charge of Leeds, who finished in 13th place under the Yorkshireman’s short reign.
And his time at Elland Road is fondly remember by few of a Whites persuasion.
Pearce, though, has good reason to be grateful of Heckingbottom’s efforts. It was under the 41-year-old that the left-back made his first-team debut, before ending last season as Leeds’ first-choice in his position.
And his response to Heckingbottom’s tweet suggests he is indeed appreciative.
Since his former boss’s sacking, Pearce has only played five times for Leeds, whose new manager, Marcelo Bielsa appears to have settled on Leif Davis as his first-choice understudy to summer signing Barry Douglas.
And the Liverpudlian, who is reported to have had Premier League interest in the summer, was loaned to Scunthorpe United at the end of the January window.
