One of Steven Gerrard’s summer priorities looks set to be bringing Ryan Kent back to Rangers on a permanent basis after a very impressive loan spell at Ibrox.

Kent has turned his career around during his time with the Gers. His trickery and skill has seen the 22-year-old become one of the most exciting players in the Scottish Premiership this term, and keeping him would be a real statement for Rangers.

The fact that some are discussing the idea that Liverpool could be weighing up keeping him on Merseyside next year is a testament to how well he has done, given how much quality Jurgen Klopp’s squad already includes, particularly in attack.

The Daily Record reports that Rangers plan to try and hold onto Kent. And perhaps a report from Sport Bild has provided an indication that the Light Blues’ hopes of keeping the wide-man may have received a lift.

Sport Bild reports that the Reds are watching Callum Hudson-Odoi’s situation at Chelsea, and could rival Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

Unless Hudson-Odoi leaves Stamford Bridge on a free next summer, it seems tougher to imagine Liverpool winning the race. But the fact that Klopp is looking for wingers certainly hints at Rangers getting good news further down the line.

Even after a superb season with the Gers, Kent arguably needs everything to go his way and for his fair share of luck on top of that to stand a genuine chance of securing a decent amount of first-team football at Anfield next year.

Another marquee signing being brought in would surely slam the door on Kent. So perhaps, these reports provide a stronger indication that Rangers have a fantastic chance of keeping one of their stars at Ibrox beyond this season.
