Liverpool fans are discussing whether or not they want Ryan Kent back at Anfield once his Rangers loan spell ends. Kent has starred under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox, scoring or assisting 14 goals in 37 games this season.

His form has seen him nominated for both Rangers’ player and young player of the year, and if feasible, the Gers will surely want to keep the winger around next term.

But some of a Liverpool persuasion are wondering if he could yet do a job back on Merseyside, where he signed a new long-term contract before joining Rangers.

With competition from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Xherdan Shaqiri at Liverpool – to name but a few – others are ready to sever their ties with Kent.

This is what’s being said on Twitter…

Oldham-born Kent came through the ranks at Liverpool and has had loan spells at Coventry City, Barnsley, SC Freiburg, Bristol City and Rangers, with varying degrees of success.

Could the Rangers loan star cut it back at Liverpool?
