Aston Villa have won eight games on the bounce in the Championship.
Jed Steer has revealed that Aston Villa powerhouse Tyrone Mings has helped ‘bring everyone together’ at the club with his ‘character’.
Dean Smith’s side have changed their fortunes around in these last six to eight weeks and it has been a remarkable turnaround for a team that looked down and out at the end of February.
But eight wins on the bounce has seen them climb up the table into fifth place as finishing in the playoff places at the end of the season is now in their own hands.
Villa goalkeeper Steer lauded centre-back Mings for the impact he has had on the club as Smith’s side aim to continue their promotion charge.
“Ty’s a great guy,” Steer told Drive Time on Villa’s official YouTube account. “He’s helped bring everyone together with the kind of character he is.”
During the January transfer window, Villa signed Mings on a season-long loan from Premier League side Bournemouth.
For large parts of the campaign, the Midlands outfit have struggled from a defensive standpoint, but the presence of Mings at the heart of the club’s defence has changed everything.
On Friday, Villa will be looking for their ninth consecutive win when they travel to League One-bound Bolton.
