Southampton fans react to Liverpool-owned Danny Ings display

Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Liverpool-owned forward Danny Ings against Newcastle United.

Ings featured for Southampton in their Premier League game against Newcastle away from home at St. James’ Park on Saturday evening.

The 26-year-old forward started the match and played for 76 minutes, as the Saints lost 3-1.

The England international failed to make an impact on the game, did not have any chances, and struggled to link up with his teammates.

According to WhoScored, the forward took two shots and had a pass accuracy of 75%.

Ings joined Southampton on a season-long loan deal from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer of 2018.

According to Sky Sports, the Saints will pay Liverpool a transfer fee of £18 million in order to secure the services of on a permanent contract in the summer of 2019.

Southampton fans were not impressed with the performance of Ings – who earns £75,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – and have criticised him on Twitter.
