In the wake of Everton’s resounding 4-0 win over Manchester United, Premier League legend and BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer has included multiple Toffees men in his latest Team of the Week.

Both the left-back and right-back positions have been filled in by Everton players, with Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman on the flanks, either side of Newcastle United’s Paul Dummett and former Toffees defender Shane Duffy, the quartet in front of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.

In midfield, Gylfi Sigurdsson takes the LCM spot, next to yet another ex-Evertonian in Gerard Deulofeu on the left wing, while on the other side, Man City’s Bernardo Silva is on the flank, while Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum is next to the Iceland international in the centre of the park.

A front two of Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha rounds up the XI, while in the metaphorical dugout is Everton manager Marco Silva, who masterminded the superb win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s faltering side.

The Premier League’s Twitter account posted Shearer’s selection and Everton retweeted it as well as adding their own comments, including having a joke with Shearer for “only” including four of the Toffees contingent.

Here is how some of the Goodison Park faithful responded on the social media platform:
