Peter Crouch praises Derby County’s Mason Mount

Burnley striker Peter Crouch has praised Chelsea-owned Derby County midfielder Mason Mount in The Daily Mail for his performance against Leeds United on Wednesday evening.

Derby got the better of Leeds 4-2 away from home at Elland Road in the second leg of their Championship semi-final playoff tie to progress to the final 4-3 on aggregate.

Mount, who joined the Rams on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer of 2018, played well in the match and scored in the 46th minute.

According to WhoScored, the 20-year-old midfielder took three shots of which two were on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 59.3%, took 45 touches, and made two tackles and one interceptions.

The youngster scored nine goals and provided four assists in 37 Championship appearances for Derby this season, according to WhoScored.

Burnley striker Crouch was impressed with Mount, and has spoken highly of the England Under-21 international.

Crouch wrote in The Daily Mail about Mount: “I have been watching his progress at Derby County this season and he is a player going places. I thought he was excellent in the win over Leeds United on Wednesday.”
