The Chelsea defender starred while on loan to Sheffield Wednesday last season.
The ex-Sheffield Wednesday loan star, Michael Hector, has exchanged words with his former Hillsborough teammate, Barry Bannan, on Twitter.
Hector has returned to Chelsea after a season at Wednesday, where he was named player of the year.
And despite interest on both the Jamaican’s part, and that of the Owls boss, Steve Bruce, in a return to the Steel City, it remains to be seen whether or not Hector will be an attainable target this time around.
Hector signed off his Sheffield Wednesday spell with a goal in the club’s 2-1 home defeat to Queens Park Rangers on the campaign’s final day.
And after being forwarded footage of the goal by a fan on social media, the centre-back sent the following message to Bannan.
But the Scottish midfielder replied:
Hector recently entered the final year of his contract at Chelsea, who paid around £4.9 million to sign him from Reading four years ago (Transfermarkt).
And a £3 million fee has already been mooted should any club wish to sign the 26-year-old permanently this summer.
Bruce is likely to take a thrifty approach to his first full window as manager of Sheffield Wednesday, however.
Which realistic targets would you like Sheffield Wednesday to go for this summer?
