Middlesbrough’s Jonathan Woodgate reportedly wants another Leeds target

Leeds United targets Ryan Kent and Michael Frey are also being linked with Middlesbrough.

Leeds United fans hailed Middlesbrough’s appointment of Jonathan Woodgate this week.

Woodgate, who spent time as Leeds’ centre-back, was given his start in management when Boro hired him as Tony Pulis replacement.

But the 39-year-old won’t be long falling foul of the Whites’ fans if he signs two of their reported targets.

Goal.com reported earlier this week that Woodgate wanted £12 million-rated Liverpool winger Ryan Kent who, according to Leeds Live, is ‘open’ to joining Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

And the Boro boss also wants another player linked with a move to Elland Road, if rumours are believed.

Fotomac claim that Woodgate wants Swiss striker Michel Frey at The Riverside, with the Turkish outlet reporting that a £4.4 million move might be in the offing.

The report adds that Leeds don’t plan on offering more than £1.7 million for the 24-year-old.

If Kent and Frey wind up joining the Reds, those in West Yorkshire might not be singing his name in a positive way when he visits next season.
