According to The Irish Sun, Leeds United are interested in signing Mark Travers in the summer transfer window, and Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe’s comments on the goalkeeper will encourage the Elland Road faithful.

Travers made his Premier League debut for Bournemouth against Tottenham Hotspur on May 4, 2019.

The Cherries won 1-0, and the best player on the pitch was the 20-year-old goalkeeper, who made as many as five saves in the first half, as reported by BBC Sport.

After the match, Bournemouth manager Howe raved about the youngster and outlined his qualities.

The Daily Mail quoted Howe as saying about Travers on May 4: “It was a great display. He’s someone we really do believe in.

“He’s got a great temperament, a great attitude. He played today like it was a training session and that’s a huge compliment.

“He has real confidence with his feet, kicked the ball well, obviously made the saves but his all-round game management was hugely impressive.”

Leeds already have two very good goalkeepers in Kiko Casilla and Bailey Peacock-Farrell, but it will not hurt the Championship club to bring in Travers .

The 20-year-old played twice in the Premier League this past season, but the youngster is unlikely to be the first choice at Bournemouth during the 2019-20 campaign.

Leeds will be aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship next season and clinch automatic promotion to the Premier League.
