Leeds United suffered playoff heartbreak last season and they will be looking to put that right during the 2019/20 campaign.
Last month, Leeds United’s season came crashing down in the most specular of fashions when Derby County ended their Premier League dreams for another season.
The Elland Road faithful would have understandably been utterly heartbroken at the time, and with some questioning what was going to happen next.
But fast forward to today and things could not be more perfect for the Yorkshire club, whose promotion hopes are increasing by the day.
Recently, Spanish outlet Cardena Ser reported that Leeds first-team coach Carlos Corberan will stay at the club after Spanish third-tier side Cultural Leonesa showed interest in his services.
Add that with that, Marcelo Bielsa signed an extension, Kalvin Phillips is keen on staying at the club despite interest from elsewhere and a number of high-quality players are being linked to the club, which proves that the summer is starting off in the most perfect fashion.
The Yorkshire Evening Post recently reported that defensive-minded midfielder Phillips wants to stay at Elland Road despite interest from Premier League side Aston Villa.
Added with that, the Yorkshire Evening Post also claims that Leeds are keen on Wolves winger Helder Costa this summer.
When adding it all together, things are looking very rosy for the Yorkshire club, who will be well aware that if they can get things right in the summer then their chances of promotion will increase further.
Bielsa staying is perhaps the most important, and he is going to. But members of his coaching staff – the brains behind his operations – is just as important. Not forgetting, key man Phillips in the middle of the park. And summer signing that can add the depth in quality fans have been crying out for.
