Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Celtic target David Turnbull from Motherwell in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that Wednesday in the Championship in England will pay the £3 million transfer fee that Motherwell want for Turnbull.

The Owls reportedly had the 19-year-old midfielder watched this past season, and with Celtic failing to agree a deal with his agent – as the Glasgow giants themselves announced on their official Twitter page – Steve Bruce’s side are ready to make their move.

The Sun has also claimed that Southampton and Bristol City are back on alert for the Scotland Under-21 international following the development regarding Celtic and Turnbull.

Good signing for Sheffield Wednesday?

Turnbull scored 15 goals in the Scottish Premiership for Motherwell this past season, according to The Scottish Sun, and the midfielder is hugely promising and has a lot of talent.

The youngster will be a good signing for Wednesday in the summer transfer window, and his dynamism and ability to score goals from midfield will enhance the Owls’ chances of finishing in the top six of the Championship next season.
