Liverpool will likely be in the market for a new attacker this summer, but the global pandemic may just change their plans.
Big signings like Timo Werner or Kylian Mbappe may become a little more difficult. The Reds may have to find cheaper targets to go for – and reports suggest they’ve found some.
The Mirror claim that Liverpool want Mechelen midfielder Aster Vranckx as well as Vasco da Gama forward Talles Magno. Liverpool’s policy may shift towards signing highly-rated teenagers for the future rather than big first-team additions.
Magno is an interesting name. The 17-year-old is already playing first-team football with Vasco; he’s notched two goals and one assist in 17 games.
Primarily a centre forward who can also play out wide, Magno has also bagged three goals in six caps for the Brazil Under-17’s, making him a wanted man.
Liverpool may look to add him for the future, with fellow Brazilians Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino already at Anfield.
Vasco fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours about their prized asset.
Some believe that he is the next Neymar, and is even better than recent Brazilian exports Lucas Paqueta, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.
Others believe that Magno is worth much more than €25million, and generally feel that he would be a great signing for Liverpool.
