Travel Gets Tasty: Hotels Add F&B Options

NATIONAL REPORT—Hotels across the country are beefing up operations with new restaurants and bars. Here’s a look at some of the new F&B outlets, ranging from history-inspired spaces to casino-style lounges:

New York Hotel Welcomes Bar with Hints of the Jazz Age

The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection, has opened The Stayton Room, a new bar concept that pays homage to the property’s Jazz Age history with interior design conceptualized by New York-based design firm Stonehill Taylor. The “Roaring 20s-esque” space draws inspiration from the glitz and glamour of New York’s bygone eras, modernized for the 21st century. The bar has 1920s-inspired cocktails and bar fare.

Hutton Hotel in Nashville, TN Opens Retro-Inspired Restaurant

Hutton Hotel in Nashville, TN has opened Mane & Rye Dinerant, a new restaurant concept for Nashville’s hotel on West End. Mane & Rye Dinerant reimagines the quintessential American diner in a setting that’s casual, sophisticated and stylish. With playful renditions of traditional comfort food, an array of housemade pies and boozy milkshakes, a comprehensive whiskey program and retro games—think music-themed pinball and table shuffleboard.

Washington, DC Hotel Adds Two Culinary Outlets

Hamilton Hotel Washington, DC, a 318-­room Art Deco property has two new distinct culinary experiences as part of the hotel’s multi­million-dollar transformation. Via Sophia reimagines the traditional Osteria experience with approachable Italian-­inspired cuisine, including authentic Neapolitan pizza. Society is an intimate cocktail bar and lounge serving hand­crafted cocktails. Both were completed in collaboration with design firm DesignONE Studio.

PM Hotel Group Adds Three F&B Outlets

Over the coming weeks PM Hotel Group’s Food + Drink Innovation team will be opening three new culinary concepts. Franklin Social, an all-day American café in Philadelphia at the Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown, Vaux at the Canopy by Hilton Portland Pearl District which will highlight local Pacific Northwest products and Society Commons that will open as part of the multimillion-dollar renovation and rebranding of the Marriott Old City in July.

Dining Venue, Rooftop Lounge Open at Huntington Beach, CA Property

The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, has opened a new oceanfront fine ­dining venue, Henry’s Restaurant, as the latest installment in the property’s expansion. The new dining outpost offers locally ­inspired farm-to-table creations. The resort also has a new rooftop outlet, Offshore 9 Rooftop Lounge.

Gaming Outlet Opens in Las Vegas

The latest evolution of gaming and entertainment is set to debut with the opening of Re:Match at The LINQ Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas. Enhancing the traditional casino lounge and bar experience, Re:Match features an indoor/outdoor setting directly on the Las Vegas Strip and is designed for guests to engage and interact with the environment. With 27 touch screens that create a cohesive underwater world, Re:Match is a first-of-its-kind.

Mohegan Sun Debuts Nightlife Experience

Mohegan Sun will be adding an enhanced and ultra-luxurious nightlife experience opening on-property this year, Novelle, in Uncasville, CT. The first-of-its-kind offering for the entertainment and casino industry, Novelle is a 15,000-sq.-ft. venue that will shift from a chic and modern lounge, to an entertaining night out, with table games and eclectic sharable plates, to a stylish ultra-lounge experience powered by DJs, bottle service and a dance floor.

Borgata Hotel & Casino Adds New Bar With Gambling 

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will open Moneyline Bar & Book and Level One Cocktail Bar & Lounge in Atlantic City, NJ, adding more than $12 million in development to the casino-resort. Designed by Nelson Worldwide, the space has a 35-ft.-long bar with 19 built-in slot machines, a VIP lounge, along with betting windows and food and beverage options.
