Looking to rent somewhere you know your pet will also be welcome? Home Let has revealed the best places to rent in the UK if you are looking to move with your pet.

Coming in at the top is London, voted first place for its green parks, pet shops and number of residents with a pet themselves. The study found that 8.4 per cent of London rentals were deemed as pet-friendly.

In second spot is Aberdeen, which has 3.8 per cent of pet-friendly rentals. However, the buzzy city lacks in dog walkers, kennels, pet sitting services and pet shops. So if you're planning on moving here, be sure to locate your nearest services first.

Some cities offer more spacious parks for dogs, while others may provide better veterinary care and pet-friendly pubs. Liverpool and Manchester came in the third and fourth spot, loved for their outdoor spaces and dog-accepting restaurants.

Many Brits struggle to find adequate pet-friendly renting locations, with previous studies even showing that 21 per cent have admitted to sneaking pets in behind their landlords' backs.

While it can often be a challenge finding a place to rent where your pet is as welcome as you are, it doesn't mean the perfect place can't be found. From Glasgow to Birmingham, take a look at 15 cities most welcoming of pets.

15 of the best cities to rent if you have pets

  1. London
  2. Aberdeen
  3. Liverpool
  4. Manchester
  5. Bristol

It's also worth remembering that whilst your landlord is most likely to have insurance, this won't cover your pet. This way, there won't be any complications or confusion later on.
