It was expected that the storm would exit East Idaho late Saturday afternoon but snow has continued to fall on many parts of the region well into Saturday night.

There were multiple weather-related wrecks on East Idaho's roads early Saturday evening but we've received no reports that any of the crashes resulted in serious injuries.

East Idaho's roads are extremely slick because of the winter weather so please be careful if you must drive.

The weather service said as much as an additional 3 to 5 inches of snow was expected to fall on East Idaho on Saturday.

The weather service said that by the time the storm exits it will have dumped 4 to 9 inches of snow on the entire East Idaho region from late Friday afternoon through Saturday. 

The storm arrived on the heels of a Wednesday night through Friday morning winter weather system that dumped up to a foot of snow on East Idaho's highlands. The region's lower elevations including American Falls, Fort Hall, Blackfoot, Pocatello and Chubbuck received very little snow and mostly rain from that storm. 

Another storm is expected to hit East Idaho on Sunday and Monday but the weather service is reporting that weather system appears to be weak and will only result in scattered snow showers across the region with snow accumulations of less than a half-inch. 

Elsewhere in the state, the Friday-Saturday storm has triggered winter weather advisories in North Idaho calling for up to 4 inches of snow.

Outside of Idaho, various winter weather warnings are in effect in Nevada, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
