Daman, July 23: At least three teenagers were drowned in the Arabian Sea on Sunday afternoon after they were swept away by the high tide while taking selfie sitting on top of a rock near Nagao beach in Diu, police said. The incident was also caught on camera in which three-youths can be seen struggling to find their way to the sea shore.

The police officials and the rescue team who reached the spot said that the fourth person, who was also swept away by the high tide, managed to swim back to the beach. While the fifth person was at a safe distance who shot the entire incident on his mobile phone.

According to a report, five teenagers, all from Rajasthan, who worked at Kevadi on a construction project in the district, were visiting the Nagao beach on Diu on a holiday, he said.

While one of the teenagers was clicking the picture and shooting video on his cell phone, four others, sitting on a rock near the beach, were busy taking a selfie when a high tide measuring around 25 feet swept them away, Dhanji Jadhav, a police officer from Diu police said.

One of the youth managed to swim back to shore, but three others were missing and feared drowned. The police said that their efforts are on to search the victims. He further said that a missing case was registered at the Diu police station.
