Shillong, July 3 (UNI) The body of a Border Security Force jawan Dharamveer Singh, who was drowned on Sunday in the fast current of the Ganol river in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district was finally recovered on Wednesday, police said.

Singh (32) had gone along with friends for a picnic at Pelga Dare and swept away with the strong flow of the Ganol river.

A search team comprising of the police, BSF personnel as well as SDRF launched a massive hunt for Singh but were unable to spot his body until this morning when they sighted the body, police said.
