A woman's body was found in the toilet of a third AC coach of a Delhi-Indore train on Monday.

The woman's body had injury marks on it and her gold earrings and bangles were missing.

The incident took place in the third AC coach of the Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Indore Intercity Express as the train was coming from Alwar to Delhi.

The woman has been identified as Anju Yadav, who was a resident of Manda in Alwar. She was travelling with her husband Jitendra Yadav and two-year-old son.

Her husband Jitendra told mediapersons that the couple was sleeping in berth numbers 25 and 28. Anju was sleeping with her son.

Jitendra said he woke up when he heard his son crying at around 2-2.30 am in the night. Anju was not in her berth. When he checked the bathroom in the coach, he found his wife slumped on the commode seat with a dupatta wrapped around her neck. Jitendra tried to look for the train's guard but was unable to locate him.

Jitendra pulled the chain and stopped the train, after which the train staff informed the Railway Protection Force.

The Government Railway Police SHO and his team took the body at the Chittorgarh station and sent it for a postmortem.

The SHO said that injury marks were found on Anju's body. He said that it looked like Anju was strangled after being robbed.

A magistrate-level probe is underway. A murder case will be filed after the probe's report comes.
