Delhi: Youths kill teen for slapping friend 3 yrs ago; chop his body in 13 pieces, dump it in Yamuna

The accused reportedly told police that 17-year-old Prince had slapped one of their friends three years ago in Geeta Colony in New Delhi, and to avenge it they killed him by hitting him repeatedly with a stone.

The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested six people in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy four days ago in New Delhi.

The deceased has been identified as Prince Bhardwaj, a resident of Geeta Colony in New Delhi.

The murder was uncovered when the police caught four boys with cannabis while patrolling near the SDM office in Geeta Colony on Thursday. One of them had a pistol and live cartridge, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Kumar said.

On investigating the matter, the accused reportedly told police that Prince had slapped one of their friends three years ago in Geeta Colony, and to avenge it they killed him by hitting him repeatedly with a stone.

The accused revealed that after killing Prince, they chopped his body into 13 pieces and threw them in the Yamuna river.

Police recovered the body parts after the accused directed them to the spot where they had disposed the body.

The boys also told police about two other people who they said were involved in the crime. They too have been arrested.

Police said they are yet to ascertain the age of the accused but most of them are suspected to be minors.
