Hyderabad: Son kills 80-year-old father, chops body into pieces

A man killed his 80-year-old father and chopped the body into pieces, which he kept inside the house in six to seven buckets.

The deceased 80-year-old man has been identified as S Maruthi Kishan, who was a retired railway employee. His son Kishan, who was unemployed, has gone absconding after committing the murder.

The incident was reported at Krishnanahar Colony in Moula Ali under Malkajgiri area of Rachakonda commissioner zone in the city on Sunday. Neighbours became suspicious after a foul smell started emanating from the house.

When police reached the house, they found several severed body parts of the victim in different buckets. On questioning the mother-daughter duo living in the house, police found out that the murder was committed by Kishan.
Speaking to the media, ACP G Sandeep said the murder was committed on Friday.

"Two women were found in the house; a woman and her daughter. The woman said that her son, Kishan, had killed her husband and chopped him into several pieces with a knife, before stuffing the body parts in buckets and running away," ACP Sandeep told reporters.

A forensic team was called in the house to collect evidence and police added that a case has been registered under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code. A search has also been initiated to nab the son Kishan.

The women staying in the house also added that they hesitated in approaching the police as they feared for their lives.

While the exact cause of the murder is yet to be determined, police said there used to be regular fights between the son and father over financial matters. Police suspect that the accused killed his father over a financial dispute.

Further investigation in the matter is underway.
