The entire hospital staff went into a state of shock as no one saw any one entering or leaving the ward. Also no one heard any sound of the victim crying for help.

District hospital RMO Rajkumar said no one had any idea about how and who committed the murder. "We are in a state of shock, Shakya was the only patient in the TB ward and late Tuesday evening he was found murdered on a hospital bed, his throat had been slit but surprisingly no one heard or saw anything. After the matter was reported to the hospital authorities, we immediately informed the police and the matter is now being investigated," Rajkumar said.

Kotwali police station station Sub Inspector Amar Lal confirmed that it was a case of murder as the throat of the dead man had been slit with a sharp edged weapon. Police have registered a murder case against unidentified people and further investigations are on.

Suicide has been ruled out as no weapon was recovered from the spot. "The victim was attacked on the neck and no weapon was recovered. Surprisingly no one saw anything. It is difficult to say who could be behind the murder at this stage but we are loking at the CCTV footage of the hospital and trying to find out who all entered the area close to the ward," Amar Lal said.

The district administration has beefed up security at the hospital.
