Chandigarh: Minor girl gangraped by brother-in-law, five others

A 16-year-old girl has allegedly been gangraped by her brother-in-law and five others in Chandigarh.

A 16-year-old girl has allegedly been gangraped by her brother-in-law and five others in Chandigarh, police told India Today TV.

The victim in her police complaint said that her brother-in-law Amit took her to his sister's home in Sector 25 on May 9.

From there they, accompanied by Amit's sister, went to a hotel in Sector 45 where the four other accused were present.

"The accused and his sister left the victim in the hotel where four other accused were already present. They allegedly took turns to rape the victim. The brother-in-law returned to the hotel at night and raped the victim. The next day the accused dropped the victim at one Parveen's home located in Ramdarbar area, who also raped her," the victim said in her complaint.

The victim’s neighbour spotted her in Sector 19 on May 28 and dropped her home. On Monday, the victim experienced severe abdominal pain and was taken to the hospital by her relatives.

A case has been registered and one of the accused, Parveen, has been nabbed by the police.

The victim’s brother-in-law and four other accused are absconding. The police have sealed the hotel where the gang rape took place.
