Initial reports suggest that the man is mentally unstable.

Airside areas of airports, where parking bays, taxiways and runways are located, are highly secure zones to which the general public does not have access.

The CISF has also issued a statement in relation to the matter.

"The intruder was spotted by CISF personnel when he was climbing the perimeter wall adjacent to runway from the built-up area side from outside at 1340 hours. He was challenged and when he ran towards the runway he was chased and caught by CISF personnel at 1342 hours i.e. within two minutes. The intruder was found to be mentally challenged and is under treatment as revealed by his family members," an official statement said.
