Madhya Pradesh: Man poisons self before visiting sister on Raksha Bandhan, dies on the way to hospital

The festival of Raksha Bandhan turned into a terrifying ordeal for a woman in Madhya Pradesh after her brother consumed poison and died on the day. A 28-year-old man in Shivpuri area consumed poison just before visiting his sister on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

His health condition started to deteriorate because of the poison and he died before he could be taken to the hospital, news daily Dainik Bhaskar reported.

The deceased, 28-year-old Deepak, was first rushed to a district hospital when he started frothing at the mouth in the middle of the Rakhi celebrations. On seeing his condition, doctors at the district hospital referred him to Gwalior. However, Deepak could not survive and died on the way to Gwalior hospital.

The incident took place under the Sirsod police station jurisdiction.

The police have started an investigation in the case, however, the reason for the consumption of poison by the victim is yet to be known.
